In response to the participant's success of the Festival of Sport, the recreational sports festival of the province of Barcelona, Euro Sport Health project was born with the aim to promote health through sport for all at local level and, as a consequence, to create the Day of the Sport in Europe. The cofinanced project by the European Commission was developed from 15 December, 2009 to 31 March, 2011.
